November 27, 2023
New K-pop group Babymonster has made a banger debut with BATTER UP music video which was released on November 27, 2023 (KST). Watch the video below.
The final lineup of the group includes Chiquita, Ruka, Haram, Rora, Pharita and Asa.
The K-pop group made their much-awaited debut with a single titled BATTER UP along with a music video. With catchy tunes, powerful vocals and raps, and exemplary dance moves, the girls capture the attention in the best possible way.
The 6-girl group is YG Entertainment's second girl group after the K-pop legend BLACKPINK. Debuting 7 years after their seniors, there has been a lot of hype about their debut and it is evidently being received gleefully by music fans.

While the song was slightly better than what I expected, I fully agree. I feel like in the current
landscape - other groups have debuted with concepts that have both been very different and establishing a concept/identity unique to the group.
I was optimistic I guess that YG would take a look around and what others are doing (I mean that's why N is doing so crazy well here) but I guess my hope was too high.
It was a bit cringe for me to watch honestly, lyrics were kinda meh and choreography was simpler than I thought it would be. Visuals as usual were nice but I feel like that's all YG is good at the days respectfully.
Even the production looks dated. I hate to say this but this type of sound, while pleasantly general public-friendly, is not what the crowd usually wants anymore.
I mean, the rise of lo-fi hip-hop, dnb, and uk garage, heck, even the soft 90s rnb revival shows majority of the audience right now prefer a mellow tune unless they belong in a specific niche (metal for example).
Groups like NJ rose to popularity bc of this and FIFTY FITY'S Cupid was a global phenomenon because of the same reason.
Hopefully they retire from the standard YG formul and give their fans something new. The girls hav talent to pull off a different style.
