“Not all those who wonder are lost”
The Apple event for this year will start at 1 a.m. on September 13 approximately in Philippine Standard Time. The event's invitation from Apple teases the phrase "Wonderlust," and some have assumed the blue and gray color scheme may be a clue at the iPhone 15's color options.
Here are a few changes for the iPhone 15 Series
🔌 The biggest potential change is switching from Lightning to USB-C charging. New EU regulations require USB-C ports by 2024, so iPhone 15 models sold in Europe will likely make the change. It's unclear if it'll be across all models or regional.
⛰The Dynamic Island could expand beyond the Pro line to regular iPhone 15 models according to display analyst Ross Young.
📸For the iPhone 15 Pro, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts a new periscope camera with better optical zoom on the Pro Max and solid-state volume/power buttons on both.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus won't differ significantly from the iPhone 14 models. The addition of the Dynamic Island and the conversion to USB-C are the two largest changes.
15 Pro and 15 Pro Max
There will apparently be a price for these new capabilities. Both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are anticipated to cost more than the models they replace. According to at least an analyst, the base price of the iPhone 15 Pro might be Php 77,990 (the same as the base price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max), while the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be Php 84,990 (an increase of about 8,000 Php). It could go up higher because the SRP of Apple authorized stores starts at Php 83,990 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
A recent analyst report said that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could see shipping delays of two to three weeks due to supply concerns affecting the new camera technology. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are anticipated to go up for pre-order on September 15th in the US and mid October in the Philippines.
