tvN to Halt Airing Wednesday-Thursday Dramas

The decision to stop scheduling Wednesday-Thursday dramas after the ending of Stealer: The Treasure Keeper, which will end on May 18th, was made, according to STAR NEWS, on April 25th.

The TV network has not yet made plans for the drama that will follow this one. The first episode of Dancing Queens on the Road will show on May 25 at 10:30 PM KST in its original Wednesday–Thursday time slot; details of what will take the place of Wednesday–Thursday dramas beginning on May 24 have not yet been determined.

The final Wednesday-Thursday drama to show in the first half of this year will be Stealer: The Treasure Keeper. The Wednesday-Thursday dramas for the second half of the season have not yet been chosen by the TV network.

An official from tvN revealed, “We are making a change of scheduling TV shows regardless of their genre, including dramas, variety shows, and documentaries.”

I've wondered why TVN put all of its high-potential dramas in the weekend time slot while continuing to run dramas they knew might not attract many viewers during the Wednesday–Thursday time period (with the exception of Pandora airing right now which broke their over 1 year streak of having successful ratings for weekend dramas). This approach would make sense given that more people have time to watch dramas on the weekends, but if they want to increase viewership, they should not spend their resources in this way.
